I just returned a week or so ago from visiting my very best friend back in Iowa. Can't believe we have known each other for almost 30 years. This is the "old gang," The Dubuque Busy Quilters. We spent an afternoon togther at Olive Garden catching up on old times. We missed you Lois and Bonnie!
believe just a few days earlier the area received
15 inches of rain in less than 12 hours causing
a lot of flooding.
Last but not least I am thrillled to be able to report that my Little Baskets quilt (see July 4)
won the Best Hand Workmanship award in the Mixed Techniques category of the Hoffman Challenge. To see all the winners go to http://www.hoffmanchallenge2011.com/ , then click on past challenges, winners.
Oh, how I wish I could have been there. You guys all look terrific! It would have been such fun to be with all. I miss the times we had together learning, quilting and just having grand times!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, I'm sorry I missed the DBQ gathering. I just did a search for Dubuque Busy Quilters and found your blog post. Andi Reynolds, our Exec. Book Editor, is going to be stopping in Galena and I was thinking about you all. Nice photo. Know that Lois and I were there in spirit with you. Still my favorite quilting group. Hope to see some of you at the show next week in Des Moines.
